中考热词 not only…but also…的用法

中考英语考题中,not only…but also…出现的频率比较高，但是总会有一些考生由于对它理解得不够透彻，而失去分数。not only… but also…是一个并列连词，用于连接两个表示并列关系的成分，可以是短语，也可以是句子，着重强调后者。它的汉语意思是“不仅 …… 而且 ...…;既……又……”，其中的also或 but有时可以省略。它的用法比较复杂，但是本文只对其中考考点以及和它有关的知识点作一归纳。

1.就近原则 not only … but also 连接两个主语时，谓语动词要和与其最近的主语保持人称和数的一致，也就是句子中的谓语动词由but also后的词决定谓语的单复数形式。

Not only his friends but also his teacher has visited the museum.

Not only his teacher but also his friends has visited the museum.

不仅是他的朋友们,他的老师也参观了那家博物馆。/不仅是他的老师,他的朋友们也参观了那家博物馆。（译法不同，强调后者。）

2. 连接谓语动词时,动词放在not only后和but also后,而且时态要一致.

She not only sings well but also dances beautifully. = She doesnt only sing well but also dances beautifully.

她不仅唱得好，而且舞得美。

3.连接两个分句时,第一个分句要使用倒装语序,也就是把助动词或be动词放到主语前面去.

Not only is he good at singing,but also he likes dancing.他不仅擅长唱歌，而且喜欢跳舞。

4. 同义句 both…and… “……和……都 ” 谓语动词用复数，不能采取就近原则。

Both you and he are interested

in playing basketball.（复数）

.你和他都对打篮球感兴趣。

Not only you but also he is interested in playing basketball.（就近）不仅你而且他也对打篮球感兴趣。

5.反义句也是否定句 neither…nor…既不……也不…… 谓语动词采取就近原则。

Neither you nor I am against the plan.不仅你，我也反对这个计划。
